    Optimizing Your Website

By far the majority of websites are there with a purpose - to sell a product or a service. Many website owners believe that a wonderfully designed website will draw searchers to it by reason of its design, but nothing could be further from the truth. I have a couple of friends who are two of South Africa's award winning designers, and they designed a website for themselves that, design wise, was faultless. But they got no visitors to their site other than those who found out the web address from a business card or letterhead. Why? The answer is simple. They used few keywords, the whole site was based on faultless graphics and Flash. The result being that there was nothing there for a search engine to look at or index. Search Engine Optimisation and the copy writing that goes with it is essential for any website.

Search engines need to look at content, and they need to see content that is relevant to the meta keywords used in the head of the site's source code. That is one of the reasons why a copy writer is an essential part of the team putting together a successful website. Copy writing for websites is a profession based on experience - experience that is gained from knowing how search engines work and what they look for. For example, if you fill a website article such as this one with a particular keyword or keyword phrase, it will be ignored by search engines, because their algorithms recognize its overuse.

Profitable Article Marketing - Announcing 4 Challenging Secrets to Grow Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is perhaps the easiest yet most powerful traffic-generating and marketing tool in this day and age. Millions of marketers and bloggers are using this technique not only to drive quality traffic to their websites but also to establish their knowledge and expertise on their chosen niche.

Here are the 4 challenging secrets to grow your article marketing:

    1. Get the attention of online users - at all cost. By this, I mean be desperate for attention. You need to get more people to read your articles to increase their chances of being read and republished to effectively augment your quality inbound links. You can easily do this by using powerful and attention-grabbing titles that are direct to the point, keyword-rich, short, and communicate the benefits that your articles can offer.

    2. Deliver new information. Steer clear from re-writing existing articles online and research for new topics that will interest your potential audience. Strive to give them something fresh or information that are seldom discussed on the web. This will add more value to your content that will boost your expert status online.

    3. Write simply. If you want to easily create a name online, you need to make sure that you write to inform your readers and not to impress them. Forget your love for big words and strive to make it simple and easier for your readers to get the points you are trying to get across. Stick with simple terms and easy to understand writing format.

    4. Take advantage of major article submission sites. Your goal in publishing your articles online is to give them enough exposure to effectively reach your target market. That is why, it is important that you carefully choose the publishing sites where you will post your articles. Stick with those which have great page ranking and steady traffic and don't waste your time on sites that are not even indexed by Google.

Hooked on List Building - One-on-One List Building Strategies Work

Are you still fighting the challenge to build a list of effective supporters for your business online? Power up and get on board, this is important stuff. You can't earn money online without a list in the long term.

Of course you can earn a few bucks online and grab your own readers for buying new products one at a time, but what about the long range income options? Can you do that one person at a time? Ultimately, NO! But you can get started one person at a time and build your list from there.

    1. Email your family and friends an interesting article you've written and invite them to pass it on to their family and friends. Don't mass mail it. Send it to one at a time, so you don't have a whole list of emails at the top. Spam filters wipe out mass emails.

    2. Send your family and friends (one at a time) an invitation to receive a free gift from your website, include links to your website and ask them to pass on your free gift with a link back to your 'squeeze page' so everyone who grabs the gift will sign in to your FREE Ezine.

    3. Cut through the BS by adding your website to the signature portion of your emails and invite everyone to sign into your site for a FREE gift. Be sure you send great emails so they will get read every time. Increase your friends and family list in your email by adding everyone to your address book list.

10 SEO Tricks to Attract More Traffic to Your Blog

As fancy as the term "blog" sounds, it's actually just a website that uses a content management system. While most blog software is more search engine friendly out of the box than many web sites, the opportunities for blog optimization are readily available.

Here are 10 tricks that will increase your visibility in search engines and eventually drive more traffic to your blog.

    1) Use keywords in your blog post titles - This is a given for SEO. Most blogging software uses the post title as the url so take advantage of it.

Example: "10 SEO Tricks to Attract More Traffic to your Blog - Search Engine Journal Search Engine Journal is included on every blog post title tag automatically.

    2) Optimize your blog categories - When you create categories for your blog, be sure to use keywords in the titles. When you post, be sure to default to a general category that is relevant no matter what the post is about. Choose multiple categories on each post when appropriate. This will create a "SEO-friendly" url for each post you make.

    3) Syndicate your blog - Make it easy for people to subscribe to your blog. Sign-up with a free service like Feedburner and then create a "syndication" area on your site.

    4) Offer RSS to email - Anywhere from 10% to 40% of your blog traffic can come from individuals that perfer to read blog posts via email. RSS readers and aggregators can be confusing. Adding email services to your blog isn't. There are several free services available for this including: FeedBlitz, Squeet, and Zookoda.

    5) Ping blog search engines - This can be configured with blog software such as Movable Type or WordPress to work automatically. If you're using Blogger.com, then you can do this manually with Pingomatic.com or Pingoat.com.

    6) Make comments on other blogs - Your name will be linked to the blog url that you enter. Dont make comments that offer no value to the blog post. Don't use keywords in the field for your name, use your name or blog name.

    7) Submit your blog directories - Also submit the blog to regular directories such as (DMOZ, JoeAnt, GoGuides, Google Blog Search, etc) that have categories for blogs.

    8) Targeted advertising Now this doesn't really drive traffic to your site but will make you money. It's possible by using Google AdSense to display highly targeted ads on your blog. Once youve setup an account and placed the ads on your site, just sit back and watch the cash come in. Cha-ching.

    9) Snatch up hot keywords - Now before you place ads on your blog, be sure your keyword density is good for the right terms. A VERY helpful tool to improve your traffic for high-paying keywords is called Keyword Elite (http://www.seojuice.com).

    10) Use track backs - If there is a blog that you refer to or quote and it is highly relevant to your subject, leave a track back. It increases your link popularity and may even score a few interested readers from the linked site. A TrackBack is a mechanism used in a blog to show, around an entry, a list of other blogs that refer to it.

    Summary

The important thing to remember is that no matter how many optimization tactics you employ with a blog, there is no substitute for quality content. Blog optimization is only as effective as the quality and usefulness of the content youre optimizing. So do not limit yourself to tips and lists. Use your imagination and you will come up with thousands of ways to drive traffic to your blog!

    SEO For Yahoo

The popularity of Google attracts the SEO to optimize their websites for Google. Around 30% of total traffic enters to website from Yahoo search. In some countries Yahoo and MSN are very popular. We should effort to gain extra traffic from Yahoo also.

To get top ranking you must collect strong back links from trustable websites. Google and Yahoo check the back links and unique content on the web page then decide which position is better for the website. Directory submission is very helpful to get good rank in Yahoo. Reciprocal link exchange program is also very beneficial. These days social bookmarking websites are also benificial for backlinks.

Site structure is also important factor when optimizing for Yahoo. Keep the important pages on top in the navigation. Keyword density is more important in Yahoo algorithm. For better ranking, your page must contain 6-8% keyword density. This percentage of keyword density is 2-3% in Google.

Meta tags are also important to get high rank in Yahoo. Google sometimes ignore the description if not related to page or it contains lots of repetition of a particular word. It is known as keyword stuffing and is unethical search engine optimization and Google, Yahoo and MSN will penalize the site or ban the website permanently. So use target keyword in the main heading, title, description and keywords. Do not include any word in the meta tags not related to page.

It means the major areas you have to focus for Yahoo are:

    Density of Keywords
    Back links or Inbound Links
    Visible Site Structure

    The Case Against Outsourced SEO

About a week ago I got a phone call from a college buddy of mine named Paul who runs a soon-to-launch online business. Here's how the conversation went:

Paul: "We want to hire your company to do the SEO for us. Whatever the price is, we can afford it."

Me: "Tell me a little more about your company and exactly what you expect to achieve from search."

Paul: "We want to rank #1 in Google for EVERYTHING in our industry, and I know you can do it for us."

Me: "I'd be happy to consult with your team to make sure you understand the principles of SEO and get off on the right foot, but I think you're better off doing the work yourself."

He was perplexed. Why wouldn't we want to take on his SEO work? It has nothing to do with him or his company. It has everything to do with the misunderstood nature of what it takes to consistently rank high in natural search. The absolute best companies I've worked with make every decision with SEO in mind. Everyone in their organization - from management to programmers to marketing - is thinking about the search impact of their decisions. For that reason it makes sense to hire a consultant or to learn it yourself, but not to hire an outside firm to outsource your entire SEO campaign to.

Most of the time when companies outsource SEO they do it with the mentality of "here you go, you handle it, we expect results." They view it as an entirely separate entity and not as a core value that needs to be instilled in their organization to be successful. That's why outsourced SEO just doesn't work: your organization still makes decisions the old way.

How will this programming change impact our search results? Can we build link-building into our marketing campaign? What adjustments can we make so that both are working in harmony to achieve our objectives as a company and rank as high as we can? There is no incentive to learn about search if someone else is handling it for you, and consequently you probably won't be asking these important questions when making a critical business decision.

Paul was still a bit confused with that answer. So let's take a closer look at some of the key components necessary for SEO success and what needs to take place for them to be accomplished:

Keyword Research - this entails researching how frequently phrases relevant to your site are searched. I like to use the SEO-Book tool or the free version of Wordtracker. Keyword research is important because it will impact your site structure, title tags (widely regarded as the most influential factor in how high you rank), and will help identify opportunities in your industry (if a term is searched a lot but there aren't a lot of good results, you may have just identified a great expansion opportunity for your company). This is best done by either a consultant or the internal head of your SEO campaign, which should be someone in upper-management.

On-Site Optimization and Site Structure - this is what most people think of when they think of SEO. What changes should be made to your site so that search engine spiders have the best chance of crawling it, understanding the content, and ranking you accordingly. Most often, this involves changes to Title/META tags, cleaning up source code so that it's proper HTML, moving CSS and Javascript to external files, adding sitemaps, modifying internal linking structure and anchor text, and several other standard changes that eliminate all potential crawling and indexing issues. This is best done by your programmer(s) so that they understand the importance of the changes and make them part of their routine in the future. These changes can be suggested by a consultant, but will only really be successful if programmers are on board.

Link building - this is probably the second most common task associated with SEO. By now you already know that you need one-way incoming links from relevant sites with applicable anchor text to rank high. Many outsourced SEO firms will either engage in elaborate link exchanges or purchase paid links for you: both of which are obsolete in terms of having any positive impact in your rankings, and now can potentially penalize you. The best one-way link building techniques - press releases, content syndication, blogging, product syndication, viral videos, etc - all require a LOT of input from you to be successful. Most of the time they should be integrated into your existing marketing plan to have the highest chance to thrive. For example, most companies already issue press releases when they have newsworthy announcements so it's a natural extension to email the release to online news sites and blogs, and to use an online distribution service. I think successful link building is best done by your marketing department as part of your overall marketing strategy. It's fine to have a consultant help put the plan together, but the actual implementation of the plan should be done by you.

Analytics - this involves the measurement and tracking of your sites' SEO and marketing campaign. Previously, this could be tedious for small sites and I might have recommended outsourcing. But with the new version of Google Analytics, a properly configured account will tell you everything you need to know about where every single sale on your site came from. Your programmer or consultant should be able to set it up for you and configure the reports to track only the most important metrics for your organization. I also like to track incoming links and search engine rankings for a site (two things that Analytics does not track), but those can easily be tracked with the Marketleap Link Checker and Digital Point Keyword Tracker (both of which can be found with a quick Google search).

In the end, whether you decide to hire a consultant or tackle SEO internally with the vast information available online, you still need to make SEO part of your organizations objectives for it to be a success: something that outsourcing usually doesn't do.

    The Bum Marketing Method 101

What is the bum marketing method?

This is a question which many newbies or super affiliate wannabes often ask in forums or blogs. The answer can be simple as you will understand shortly. In this article, I will tell you what is the bum marketing method and how can anyone make money out of it.

The bum marketing method is a simple way to make money using a high traffic page to direct traffic to a sales page to close the deal. It is another form of article marketing in short. Because it is so simple, any bum can do it which is why it is called bum marketing!

What are the ingredients for the Bum Marketing Method?

    1. A search engine loved web site such as EzineArticles, Squidoo, Zimbio & HubPages.

    2. A product sales page such as a ClickBank product page, other affiliate sales page or even your very own product sales page.

    3. A unique and original article optimized for long tail keywords

Basically, using the bum marketing method, you will write an article about 300 words long centered on long tail keywords with a keyword density of around 1 %. Long tail keywords are targeted 4 or 5 phrase keywords that are specific.

For example, "buy a black iPAQ Pocket PC H3670" is a long tail. Such keywords are easier to rank in Google and chances are, the searchers are laser-targeted.

Next in the bum marketing method, submit it to EzineArticles, Squidoo, Zimbio or HubPages. Remember to put links on your article to your sales page or whatever destination site you want your visitors to go. In the case of EzineArticles, place your link in the author resource box. They do not allow affiliate links but you can always use a redirect or masked link.

With long tail keywords, your article can be ranked in Google within a few days. I have seen them in Top 10 within several hours!

When your prospects search for the targeted keyword, for instance, "buy a black iPAQ Pocket PC H3670" in Google, he/she will see your bum marketing article and read it. If your link is obvious and appealing enough, he/she will visit your site and Ah-Ha! Your visitor is more likely to buy, isn't it? See the power of the bum marketing method?

Market Mix of Online Article Submission Sites

Any online article submission website must consider its market mix and decide what quality level it can accept and which type of articles are appropriate. I believe a good online article submission site can handle the trendy pop culture articles and the serious articles and the strength is in the numbers and the rankings of the submission site.

If this is the goal then the online article submission site might handle white papers, or have sub-categories for more elevated articles. Perhaps even an eBook section where they pay out half to the author. I am certain the top online article submission sites have considered all these things at one time or another, although before launching anything like that, it must be a WIN/WIN, for them and the author as well, otherwise it cannot work.

A limited system of review for only serious authors that could be placed in a special category would be excellent, but if the submission site draws its traffic from search engines those folks are coming anyway, only this way they may eventually trust the source more in the future, thus the serious author wins big.

An online article submission website which can accept both serious articles and pop culture articles would allow the site's authors to have their cake and eat it too. The author chooses what to write and the site distributes the work to the world and the Internet Surfer if interested will see the articles they like and choose. Everyone wins, as it is the information topics they are looking for, if it is too heavy for them, they click out, if not they win, you win and everyone is happy in cyberspace?

Fast Article Marketing - Latest 4 Targeted Methods to Make Money Through Article Marketing

If you have the knack for writing, you don't need to look very far for a great traffic-generation method that you can use to build quality traffic for your website. You can simply write and submit articles to publishing sites to improve your page ranking, obtain numerous inbound links, and increase the number of your page views.

    1. Plan ahead. Devise a workable plan where you can schedule all the smaller tasks that are associated with article marketing. Set your writing time and schedule your submission. Allot at least one day every week for your performance check and for improving articles that are not receiving impressive click throughs.

    2. Match your goals with the amount of time and effort that you are willing to invest on this technique. If you aim to get additional 100,000 page views every day, you must be willing to multiply the number of articles that you submit on a regular basis or devise a better plan on how you can reach your goals. Some marketers hire ghostwriters or articles submitter so they can post more articles to get improved traffic.

    3. Be patient. Some article marketers quit when they don't see noticeable improvement in their page views after a couple of submissions. Article marketing doesn't offer immediate results and based on researches, you need at least 100 quality articles before you will feel the improvement. So, be patient, keep writing and submitting articles and you'll surely reap great rewards in the long run.

    4. Submit only to the best publishing sites. Some article submission sites are not even indexed by Google. Don't waste your time on these sites as they do not have steady readership that can potentially pick up and distribute your articles.

Article Marketing Tips for Internet Newbies - What to Write About?

Article writing is the best way to spread your links. It is free; and it helps add value to your Internet presence through the information you share in the articles. You write an article about 500 words and submit it to prominent article directories. You can reference your web url in your resource box attached with the article. The more directories you submit your articles to, the more back links you build.

Writing articles can be challenging for some people. If you want to hold your standards high and write your own articles, it could be time-consuming. Alternatively, you can hire ghost writers to do the job for you at a cost. $10 for a 300-500 word article when you commit in bulk (maybe 8-10 articles) is a decent price.

I personally like to write my own articles despite the fact that it is time-consuming. I like the fact that it is my voice and that I learn what I have to write about through the research and experimenting.

For Internet marketing newbies, the first block may be not knowing what to write about. When you are new, you do not feel like an authority in anything. How do I come up with an article when I do not know enough about anything? You may ask.

The answer is "Quite the contrary!" You have a lot more to write about when being the newbie than a veteran to some extent. Anything you are learning can be committed to paper. This is much like a school paper. You have to do some research, carry out the experiment, share the results (or sometimes not necessarily), and reach a conclusion.

Some areas where you may find plenty to write about are:

    - how each of your affiliate programs works

    - how you solved a problem in building your home biz

    - new things you've learned and your thoughts on them

    - your views and revelations in your area of interest

    - resources that you have found that have worked well for you

    - documenting you success experience with step by step instruction

Covering various topics in these areas may also gradually establish you as an authority in building your home biz online.

If the above suggested areas of topics are too vague for you, there is another way that is more specific. Visit Internet marketing related forums (e.g. Warriorforum). Pay attention to what questions people are asking. Make those questions your assigned topics to write about. Do the necessary research (if you do not already know the answer) and document your findings and conclusions. Since the same questions are asked over and over again by different people, you may get a chance to share your findings at a later opportunity, which will in turn build you a solid backlink (when you plant your web url in your signature).

Still another specific way to find what to write about is to read what other people have written. Then, try to rehash the same content in your own words adding your own spin to it. It is better that you add some new and/or unique input to the original content. This is not difficult to do as we are all so opinionated and find ourselves disagreeing with each other easily and often.

It is also advisable to keep a list of topics you want to write about. If you are like me, you will have days when you feel extremely inspired that you have something to say about everything. Those are usually the times when you only have enough time to do perhaps one article. Other times, you are dealt the writer's block where you just cannot think of anything to write about. Experience tells me that it is a smart habit to get into to note down all the things you want to comment/write about in your brief moments of inspiration. These notes, though it takes some discipline to keep, will prove to be little sparkles of intellect when your mind goes through the duller phase.

Article Marketing - The Step To Being Successful

If you follow this one step to becoming a successful article marketer, all the search engine optimization will mean nothing. You can have the world's worst article title, but if you were to just follow this one step guide to article marketing, you'll get the traffic you want and he profits you desire. There's just one step that you have to take. What is it?

    1. Write 10 articles a day.

That's it. That's the one step guide to becoming successful as an article marketer. Writing at least 10 articles a day. No less. This might be a simple task, but many beginning article marketers don't take it seriously. In order to become successful at article marketing, you have to flood the market! It's that simple, and that is the truth! There are no lies about it. Flooding the market with your articles, is the best way to beat out the competition. You can easily do that with the one step guide. Just write 10 articles a day. If you do this, it won't matter what your title is. Just write! The more you do, the better you'll do and the more you'll learn about article marketing.

If you just keep writing at least 10 articles a day, you'll start to see what it takes to being an article marketer, and what it takes to make a successful article. That's all there is to it! Why should you write 10 articles a day? The more you write, the better you become, the better your articles become, and the more that you flood the market. With 10 articles a day, by the end of every month, you can be certain that you'll have at least 280 articles working to get traffic for you!

If you were to type in the word psp download into Google, there is an article on the first page. That one article gets more than 200 clicks per day. That one article get at least 50 URL clicks a day. That means that the creator of that article, is getting 50 people to his website, just through that one article. What if he has 100 (which he probably does)? 200? He will get 50 URL link clicks from each article, taking them to his website. Even if he were to only get 5 people to get to his website for every article, he would still get 1000 people to his website a day!

Now if you were to write 10 articles a day, you would end up with 280 articles by the end of the month. That means that if you wrote good articles, you'll get at least 100 people to your website a day! 100! Just start writing those 10 articles, and your traffic and profits will skyrocket!

    3. Make your articles easy on the eyes. Break your articles into short paragraphs leaving several white blank spaces for your readers. This will make your content look scannable and readable.

    4. Optimize your content. Make it easier for your potential readers to find your content online by incorporating major keywords not only on your article body but most importantly, on your titles or headlines.

    5. Write articles on a regular basis. Increase your online presence by writing and submitting articles, if possible, on a daily basis.

Article Marketing - High Quality Lead Generation

Article marketing is my favorite form of lead generation, and I imagine it will stay that way for some time to come. The biggest thing with article marketing, and one of the reasons I think the market is so wide open, is that article marketing doesnt produce massive numbers of leads and thats what so many people are looking for.

We get bombarded with ads for leads for cheap, or leads 1000 at a time but we should all know by now that they are very poor quality leads. But with article marketing, the leads are a much higher quality lead. They are, in my testing, as much as 10 times more responsive than search engine generated leads and that is huge.

People have been trying for years to outsmart the search engines and they really dont need to they just need to write articles.

Anyhow, that is the way I feel about it.

So why are article marketing leads so productive? I think that one of the reasons is that article marketing prescreens the leads before they get to you the person reading the article has the option of just clicking out, you dont get charged for the click, like with ppc.

I think also that there is a psychological impact of reading your article, then reading your squeeze page by the time they get a few emails from you, they have really developed a bond with you and I think that that is real important.

Article Marketing - Does It Pay Off To Market In Other Niches?

Many people who get started in article marketing or even Internet marketing in general try to market Internet marketing products. However, they themselves have not made a few decent sales online, let alone make a full-time income on the Internet.

Truth is, there are not many people out there who are interested in making money online as there are people who want to...

    - Lose weight

    - Get better in relationships

    - Get happier

    - Have less stress

    - And lots more of other stuff!

And there are many more other niches. You'll also be competing with article marketers who are not so into Internet marketing like many of the readers of this article will be. Most of the writers in those niches submit a few articles for testing or merely for small branding purposes.

However (and that is a big however!), if you use them purely for out and out traffic generation to your websites, you can get almost all your articles in the 3-digit zone easily. Many of my articles in other niches reach a 100+ page views after just a week or so and many others hit 300 or more page views.

The simple fact is this: articles in other niches away from the 'make money online' niche or 'Internet marketing' niche generate far more page views, which means far more traffic to your website. You'll also get far less sophisticated competition who are no well-versed in Internet marketing tactics!

So make use of this information to start marketing in niche markets if you haven't. I'm not saying don't sell to the Internet marketing niche (please do so if you have a quality product!), but venture into other niches where it is potentially a lot more profitable.

Amazing Article Marketing - Announcing 4 Popular Steps to Energize Your Article Marketing

If you have been using article marketing but can't seem to achieve your projected numbers or can't seem to attract enough attention online, I'd say you need to energize your marketing strategies. Here's how:

    1. If your clickthrough rate is not that impressive, it sends a strong signal that there is something wrong with your titles. They are not effective in grabbing online users' attention that is why your articles remain unread. This can easily be remedied by editing and improving your titles to make them more interesting, intriguing, and truly compelling. Start by using powerful words on your headlines that are proven to evoke action and communicate the benefits that your readers can get from your content upfront.

    2. If your clickthrough rate is skyrocketing but you can't seem to convert readers to potential clients, it only means one thing; you have great, well-written titles but your content is not that impressive. That is why people open your articles but close them even before they reach your resource box. To easily convince online users to check on your website, you need to offer them useful and valuable information on your articles. You need to let them know that you are an expert on your chosen niche and you possess the type of information that they need. Thus, strive to make your content well-written, informative, useful, and valuable to the lives of your readers. By doing this, you will surely be able to increase your clickthrough rate by tenfold.

    3. The quantity of your articles is a crucial element in article marketing. Even if you are able to produce compelling articles but if they are just few, you will still not be able to generate enough attention online. To boost the number of your inbound links (that can help you pull up your search engine ranking) and to strengthen your online presence, strive to multiply the number of your articles. If you have the money to spare, you can hire a ghostwriter who can offer you with great copies for reasonable prices. If you are on a tight budget, you can do the legwork and just extend your writing hours so you can produce more copies.

    4. Monitor your performance. Make it a habit to check the performance of your articles by knowing how many times they were opened and read. Identify the copies that are not performing well so you can improve on them and make them more enticing to the eyes of online users.

Article Marketing to Drive Highly Qualified Traffic to Your Web Site or Blog

Article marketing is a great way to drive highly qualified traffic to your website. Here are the 3 steps:

Step One - Write lots of great quality articles - The higher your article volume, the higher all your other numbers are going to be. This includes highly qualified visitors to your web site. Write articles that are good enough to represent you well on the internet, give the reader good information, encourage the reader to know, like and trust you, and leave them wanting more from you. Write about the what, the why, and just enough of the how to give the reader something to do and something to take action on. Which leads to

Step Two - Craft a prospect pulling resource box - Your resource box is not the place to try to convince the reader that you are an expert in your niche. If you have not convinced the reader that you are an expert in your article, it is way too late to try to do so in the resource box. And they are probably not even reading your resource box anyway. The resource box is not about you, it's all about the reader. This is where you invite the reader back to your web site or blog to sign up for more great information.

Step Three - Powerful landing pages - Alright, so you have created a great article and a prospect pulling resource box, now what? Make sure you have good information and either a way for the reader to further engage you or spend money with you, or both, on your landing pages. You want to take really good care of the readers who come to visit your world.

What Is Free Internet Advertising And Where Do You Find It?

One of the first things you are faced with when you start your own business at home is how are you going to promote it. If you have a website then you need to get visitors to it. Depending on your budget, you may not have a lot of money when you first start out. In this article we want to talk about free Internet advertising that you can use to get traffic for your new business website.

The first thing to understand about marketing on the Internet is that if you do not have to have money to drive traffic to your website you're going to have to make up for that by investing time. This is one of the great things about the Internet, however. Anybody regardless of their present income status can start their own business at home and make it profitable by doing just a few different types of free advertising methods.

When we talk about getting traffic to a website we're talking about a visitor and a potential paying customer. Once they are on your site they can make a purchase therefore earning you a commission on that sale. So it only stands to reason that the more visitors that you have coming to your site the more opportunities you have to make a sale.

One effective method that has worked over the years and is continuing to work is known as article marketing. With article marketing you choose targeted keywords and write articles around those words. Your articles are published online after you submit them to various article directories.

The way that this can benefit you is when you write a quality article, at the end of the article you're allowed to create a bio box. This resource box is a short classified ad promoting yourself, your website and your new business. You're allowed to list your website address, and when people click on that they are taken to your website.

For article marketing to work you need to write a lot of articles and get those submitted to as many quality article directories as possible. If you don't have money to pay to use a submission service then you're going to have to manually enter those articles 1 at a time. This brings us back to what we talked about earlier, in terms of investing more time you do not have to have money to spend promoting.

Your goal with article marketing is to get your website address on as many potential pages as possible. This is known as getting a link back to your website or a back link. Another free Internet marketing method is to get back links. You need to get as many back links pointing back to your website is possible.

You can do this through free classified ads, forum marketing, blogging, social networking, and anything you can think of that allows you to get your website address on somebody else's website.

This summarizes free Internet advertising. You are going to have to be creative and you're going to be ambitious, but the more backlinks pointing to your site the more potential traffic you will have. The good news is when you start your own business at home the internet can help you promote it inexpensively.

    Building Links The Right Way

Link building has benefits for webmasters. There are beliefs that this improves your search engine ranking as well as generally gets the word on your site out to a greater audience. As with most options for webmasters, this area offers both potential benefits as well as penalties.

The easy ways are simple. Enlist the power of family, friends and associates who all have web pages or web sites. Get as many as possible to link to your web site. Of course, this is only the start of the links you'll want.

There once was a popular practice online called, "link farming." This was in high demand because it was believed that links had a far greater impact on a web site's popularity. In truth, links do help your web site, but this is only to a point. You can't have a poorly coded web site and expect to jump to the top 100 just by linking.

People who operated link farms didn't focus enough on content and, as a result, web engines began punishing those who maintained pages too similar to link farms. Why was this an unwanted practice?

One of the main reasons this was undesirable was because the pages simply had no real content. Web masters who practiced link farming literally created page after page of links. There was no content, no navigation, nothing of any substance whatsoever. Web surfers were finding themselves trapped on pages that didn't offer anything aside from links.

Search engines grew wise and began avoiding such link-filled pages. Soon after that, those once-popular web sites started declining in popularity and visitation.

There are a far better methods of utilizing the power of links and webmasters can rest assured there will be no rank deductions for practicing them. Remember, the benefits of link exchanges should be two-fold. Not only do you want your rankings improved, you want more traffic.

Link exchanges are a great way to both give and create links to your site. In turn, this will give a good flow of traffic. These are best done on pages where surfers are told to expect links. You can give your page such titles as, "friends," "affiliates," or even, "associates." In order for your page to avoid the "link farm" category, you must consider your visitor.

For every link you offer, give them some information on what the site is about. Link farmers avoided this and didn't give their visitors any information on the site. You can include the site's title, its mission, or just a brief statement on why it is appropriate on your web site.

The best link exchanges will be with sites offering similar information. If you maintain a web site on the fun of homemade crafts, you may not see a great benefit from linking with an online casino company. However, you can link with suppliers, teachers, or hobbyists and see a great influx of traffic.

One practice that you don't want to undertake is the fruitless link. Many webmasters will link up with anyone and everyone, regardless, and expect this aggressive linking to have a positive result. It does little more than annoy many other webmasters and imply your site is a "seedy," one.

Aggressive linking has no merit and there is no reason for it. Certainly, you can't often get direct permission from a site's administration and this doesn't cover legitimate recognition. If you cite a work or post on a message board that another member may benefit from a web site you visit, there's nothing wrong with that. That's a genuine purpose. Just linking for the sake of linking doesn't give you any results.

Many webmasters who link this way spend far too much time attempting to drum up visitors who may or may not be curious when they should also be focusing on code, purpose, organization, and drawing legitimate, steady traffic. Link exchanging is the greatest benefit when it's a cooperative effort. Otherwise it would simply be called, "linking."

Another way of building links is through the paying services. These companies do require a financial investment, but many are highly worthwhile. Be wary in this arena, though, it may get you into trouble with the search engines if you are simply buying links from another site. You can always trade content with associates in your industry. This helps when a "blurb" is left. You may find that just a link in the copyright information of your article or press release can drive a great deal of traffic to you.

These tips are only the start in a topic that has held the attention, and fascination, of webmasters for years. Linking can be beneficial and draw a great deal of traffic to your site; however a few rules must be observed to obtain optimum link efficiency.

    How To Overcome Writer's Block

It's out there, lurking... waiting to strike. The arch nemesis of every writer, that awful limbo of running out of things to say, where every sentence you write seems forced and off kilter, where the cursor winks at you expectantly - the dreaded blank page.

Writer's block is no fun, but you can overcome it. Everyone has their own technique that works for them, but there are some basic exercises that are helpful to almost everyone to get their creative juices flowing again.

The key to overcoming writer's block is to let yourself become inspired. First of all, relax, empty your mind of your stress, forget timetables and shut off the computer.

Read one of your favorite books again, watch a movie that makes you cry, put on some music that stirs your emotions, then take a long walk through your neighborhood and soak in everything - imagine writing about your surroundings.

A good stop off would be your local art museum. Often, observing the creativity of others helps to spark your own. Look at the paintings and sculptures; try to see their hidden meaning, imagine writing about what those artworks say to you.

If none of these things work, sit down with a pen and paper and begin writing down words and synonyms to those words, branch off and start writing what those words make you think of. Jump, Hop, Skip, Child, Baby, Mother, Pregnant, Love, Touch, Feel, Cry...

This exercise stimulates your brain into a creative pattern. If you get stuck, start over with a new word. Wall, Barrier, Shield, Sword, Soldier, Knight, King...

Taking a nap and a long shower or bath can also be productive. Writer's block is often just your mind's way of telling you that it needs a rest.

As already stated, the key to overcoming writer's block is to allow yourself to become inspired so do whatever inspires you.

Succeeding in the Rapidly Changing Internet Marketing World

The world of internet marketing is changing so quickly that you may find your head spinning. Do you find yourself saying things like:

If we had only known that niche marketing was going to be so wildly popular we would have focused on that instead of MLM.

If we had only known that Google was going to change its algorithm and the rules of AdWords were going to change we would have...

Do yourself a favor and stop beating yourself up! You are not alone. It is a safe bet that the only constant in internet marketing will be change! The plethora of new product offers that are constantly dropping into your email inbox are proof of that. You know Google will keep changing its algorithm and new search engines may even challenge Google someday.

Here are a few tips to avoid getting overwhelmed by this constant sea of change.

    CONTINUOUS EDUCATION

Know that to have long-term success in internet marketing, you cant just rely on luck. This is a serious profession which requires serious study. There are techniques which work and some that wont. In this respect, internet marketing is like any other profession.

Due to this rapid rate of change, you cant allow yourself to become complacent. There are always new materials, new techniques and ideas to evaluate.

Most of us learn either from recognized experts in our field or from peers or from our own experience. One great way to pick up information is by participating in internet marketing forums. These are like online classrooms where you can ask questions and participate in healthy exchanges between marketers of all experience levels. While participating in the forums, youll probably pick up some traffic to your website as a nice by-product!

    PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF

During a presidential campaign in the not too distant past, one candidate was accusing the other of being a waffler. This term could be applied to countless people who cant seem to decide what to market next. They get excited and start with a product or system, investing lots of time and money in getting it up and running. It could be anything from e-books sold on mini-sites to selling on eBay to AdWords.

Then, one day they hear of another new system (probably one created by someone who claims "the gurus are angry with me for giving away all their secrets..."). Easily discouraged by their lack of results with the first opportunity, they put that to the side and try the new one. This can quickly turn into a cycle where they try something for a short time, get discouraged, throw it away and try the next thing.

This is a very costly way of doing business. The nature of the internet business is that it takes time to build momentum. So, you must give your investment time to bear fruit.

    TAKE TIME TO REGROUP

If you are guilty of chasing too many ideas at once, take time to regroup. Make a list of all of the products or ideas you have. From this list, determine which of these it will be feasible for you to pursue. This is going to depend, at least in part, on your level of knowledge with the product and what your interests are. Work with your strengths. It is more time-efficient for you to focus on a product or idea which you know inside-out, rather than investing yet more time on a new idea that you just became familiar with.

Next, devise an achievable plan. Focus on this ONE thing youve chosen and set a realistic timeline to achieve results. Don't be in a hurry. If you have a day job, realize that the time you have to devote to your internet venture is limited. The important thing is for you to work at a steady pace until your idea takes hold and the money starts flowing in. That will give you the energy to continue.

    DISCIPLINE IS THE KEY

Navigating through the changing seas of the internet marketing game requires discipline. Make sure you are a continual learner, but at the same time, dont try to apply too many of those ideas at once!
