Article Marketing - How I Use Article Marketing To Generate Swarms Of Leads

Article marketing is the main way I generate leads to my autoresponder, I won't deny that. This is because from my testing, I have found that article marketing produces the most responsive leads. Can you benefit from this? You bet you can.

List building can be difficult for any marketer, especially the beginner marketer. But the main thing to understand is that list building is really tied in to traffic generation. If you can generate traffic to your sites, then building a big list is not a problem at all.

And article marketing is one of the best ways to drive responsive and highly targeted traffic to any website. You write short and lean information laden articles, then submit them to article directories like Ezine Articles. In your biography box, write a compelling bio about you and your business and link to your website.

Leads generated from article marketing are more responsive than from other sources because they have read your article and if they like the information you present, you have built somewhat of a relationship. This relationship can be furthered in your email marketing.

The fact is this, if someone reads an article and likes it, he will want to receive even more information from the author. This gives you a highly targeted lead.

But if you want to build huge lists using this method, then you must understand that volume is the key. You must submit a few articles a day for at least a few months to start seeing results. After a few months, with a few hundred articles, you will receive dozens of qualified leads every day.

Article Marketing - Re-purpose Your Articles in Your Blog and Build "Article Intrigue"

Article marketing is simply getting your information in front of as many eyes as possible in as many consumable forms as possible.

One of the best and easiest ways to do this is to re-purpose your articles in your blog.

The only real challenge is that at 300 to 500 words most articles are too long for your average blog post.So here aretwo ways to create several blog posts out of one article and build a little "article intrigue" while your are at it.

1. Split your article into three separate blog posts over an interval of three days or longer. This is especially simple if you have made 3 major points in your article. It can be done with any article though. In the first post use about a third of your article. At the end of the post, tell the reader a bit about what to expect in the next blog post. And so on.

2. Another great way to do this is to use the "read more" function on your blog. The read more icon on Word Press blogs looks like a sheet of paper cut in half. This is essentially what you are doing. At some point in your article place the read more command and your article stops there, creating a small post. When the reader clicks on the "read more" link they are taken to a new page and the rest of the article.

Bonus tip: To build in a little "article intrigue" place the read more link in the middle of a thought such as "something works really well for me is" and then place the read more link right there.

Bum Marketing Method - What's The Difference With Article Marketing?

What is the bum marketing method? It is simply article marketing and affiliate marketing combined. Travis Sago, the inventor of this name made a lot of noise last year, and many people are confused.

I will answer to several questions to help beginners trying to earn a few bucks online. But first, you need to understand that the bum marketing method is a short term strategy.

First, you need to write and submit articles to the top article directories. These are ezinearticles, goarticles and searchwarp.

I don't have a lot of success with searchwarp, and in fact I stopped submitting articles there.

But there is a little problem with this method. To earn money, you need to practice direct linking. This means that you link directly to the merchant's website.

While you can make anywhere between a few hundreds and a few thousands dollars per month with this method, I don't recommend that you send visitors directly to the merchant. Send them to your own landing page instead because in this case, you are in control of your traffic.

I do not say that direct linking doesn't work, but a landing page is the best way to do it.

Another mistake made by bum marketers is that they try to sprinkle their associate links inside the article. This is really annoying for article owners, and most of them won't even bother publishing your articles.

Another benefit of linking to your own webpage is that search engines will notice the surge in inbound links and your website will have higher rankings in the search engines.

What should you have on your landing page?

It is good to have an opt-in form to capture your visitors email addresses. Then, you will redirect them to the affiliate page with your autoresponder series. It's a proven fact that most of the buyers won't do it at the first visit and you need to expose the offer to your reader several times for maximum conversion.

Top 5 Article Marketing Mistakes

I am sure that if you are reading this article then you must have attempted marketing your business with this method of marketing or you have given up trying to market this way because the results were very disappointing.

In this article I would like to share with you the top 5 mistakes that people make when trying to market their business using article marketing.

1) Inconsistency

The number one reason that people fail with this method is that they are too inconsistent. You cannot write one day and then not again for a few days. You need to do this every day and be very strict about it. In fact you can apply this to your home based internet business as well. You need focus and persistence to succeed.

2) Not writing enough articles

To succeed online with this method you need to be writing at least ten to twenty articles a day. If you are doing less than this you simply will not be making enough noise in the market place to succeed.

3) Drive traffic to a squeeze page

The number one thing that you need to do to succeed online is build a list. This is so that you can market over and over again to your prospects.

4) Overcome writer's block

As you write every day there will be days when you just do not feel like writing. It is very important that you go to gym or do some activity to keep yourself energized. So that when you get back you can start again.

5) Create a killer bio

Your bio contains the link to your squeeze page. It is very important that you have your unique selling proposition here so that people will want to click through to your web site.

Profitable Article Marketing - 4 Persuasive Methods to Supercharge Your Article Marketing

Article marketing is the most powerful promotional method these days. Ensuring your success in this technique can bring you enormous benefits. From increased page views to higher page ranking and from improved sales potential to higher online revenue. So how can you be sure that you can succeed in this method?

1. Start with a good title. One of the very first things that you need to ensure in this technique is to obtain impressive click through rate. You need to craft a mechanism that can potentially entice your target audience to open and read your articles. One of the best ways to do that is by giving your articles attention-grabbing headlines. So what are the elements that make a title truly impressive? It must be direct to the point, well-written, and it must communicate the benefits that your article content can offer.

2. Content. This is what will ultimately make or break your article marketing campaign. It is not enough that you grab the attention of your readers through your titles, but you must also hold that attention by giving them content that is truly useful and informative. Make your articles content-rich, easy to understand, and direct to the point.

3. Promote your products and services. Write about topics that are closely related to what you offer so you can easily advertise them on your resource box. It will not make sense if you write about acne when you are offering computers and other gadgets, right? Besides, that will not help you in anyway establish yourself as an expert on your field.

4. Use compelling resource box. Learn how to drive online users to your website through the use of your resource box. Use powerful words or persuasive phrases that can easily move your readers to click on your website's URL.

Writing Articles and Following Up with Exceptional Customer Service

You have just started generating your first ten articles and posted them on your blog, forum, or web site. Now you can also submit them to the major article directories, but what should you do after that? You should set goals for weekly article production.

Please understand that article production will not usually bring instant business. Article production, and bringing in new business prospects, is a gradual process. You will need to produce hundreds of articles to see a flood of new business.

However, prospects that arrive through web directories, can easily be tracked; and when they call by telephone, some of them will tell you how long they have been reading your blog, newsletter, or articles.

Article readers tend to be pre-qualified buyers because many of them will follow your writing, for awhile, before taking the step to purchase your products or services. When they are interested in purchasing from you, you should have an excellent customer service system in place.

This is where small business can easily defeat the larger corporate giants. Try to call a customer service representative in a Fortune 500 company. Observe how long it takes to talk in your language and to a real person. This is not a role model that small business should try to copy.

Have you ever called a company by telephone, left a message, and never received a return call? How often have you been left on hold, before you finally gave up, hung up, and purchased a product from another company that cared about you?

Your useful articles, and the fact that you actually answer the phone, or respond to an inquiry, are a big advantage.

Just sign up for any article hosting website, they're all free, I suggest ezinearticles.com, and start writing articles. Not just 1-3 articles, I mean as many articles as you can. This is the best way to dominate a keyword and beat out your competition.

Whenever you have a subject that you want to talk about, break that subject up into 30 sub topics. Then do it again, then again, until you can't do it anymore. And when you think you can't do it anymore, do it again! Every sub topic is an article marketing gold mine! Every sub topic can lead you to the greatest traffic creating marketing asset that you'll ever encounter. Sub topics are the key to article marketing.

Once you have found your sub topic's, start writing, and writing and writing. Write about your sub topics like your a professional. Write non-stop. Don't stop, keep writing. Don't think, just write. Tips to Advance in Article Marketing

Article marketing, which is a simple term for a fairly simple process, consists of distributing articles and content that you have written to other websites, eZines or blogs for free. You might wonder why youd distribute this for free: essentially, the best article marketing involves distributing articles in exchange for receiving a short biography and links to your website in a little blurb that appears at the end of your article.

To produce more traffic for your site with the best article marketing, make sure you target your audience well. You know the type of people you want to come to your site, so write articles that they would find interesting, and distribute these articles to places that they would likely go. The best article marketing will be targeted directly to those you want to attract to your site.

The best article marketing should also involve articles that are recent and relevant. Of course, depending on your website and field, there may be reasons for other types of articles, but content that is new or hot will attract more hits and be distributed more widely. Obviously, the more websites that pick up your articles and thus link back to your home page the better.

Another tip regarding the best article marketing is to not only use distribution services like iSnare to submit your articles. These free services aid you in distributing your articles. However, although the basic service is free, a minimal few dollars can often get you a much larger and more active distribution range and thus produce more links back to your site.

In short, the best article marketing can greatly improve both the traffic to your site and your sites ranking on popular search engines without the often shady services of an SEO. Article marketing can be very lucrative, and starting today is a smart idea for your site.

Getting Traffic to Your Squeeze Page- Part 3, Articles and What Happens Next?

I have written articles about writing articles in the past, but not about what you do with them, once they're written. OK, so let's go into that now...

After you've finished your article, you need to re-write it, paragraph by paragraph. So, you'll look at paragraph one in article one and think about what it says. Write a paragraph that means the same thing with different words. Here's an example:

Why do people say that list building is the most important thing an Internet Marketer needs to do? Well, without a list, there's not much money to be made. You have to train your list to realize that you're someone who can be trusted to recommend quality products to them, products that work and that you've tried yourself. When they know that, they'll be more likely to buy things from you.
OK, now, let's rewrite that whole paragraph:

If you don't have a list, you won't succeed in Internet Marketing. That's it. You need to build a group of people who like your messages. They have to trust you. And, they have to know that you've already tried whatever you want to sell them and think it's great!
Doesn't the second paragraph say pretty much the same thing as the first? The words are different, but the concept is the same: Internet marketers won't succeed without building trust with a list. Now, take the next paragraph and do the same thing. Rewrite it completely. Then, move to the third paragraph and so on. If you use vertical tiling of your windows, you'll be able to look at all three versions at the same time. Then, when you've finished, do it again. Rewrite the whole article again.

Why is that important?

Easy. Search engines hate duplicate or "dupe" content. Don't put the same article on your site or blog that you distribute. It's just tons of duplicate content flooding the Web. Search engines want the best search possible for their clients. If they put up a whole page of one article, people won't like it. So, only one site gets credit for each article, and it won't necessarily be you. You want the link in your resource box to be pointing back to your list building page, giving it help with page rank, all the time.

Rewriting your article twice is a good way to get around the dupe content issue. Put one article version on your blog or website, give one version to Ezine Articles or another high-traffic site and let the third version go to a distribution site, like iSnare. That way, you'll be sure to get the maximum benefit from writing and rewriting just one article.

Any article you have in distribution, though the search engines may not count it, will still provide free traffic to your list building page. That's why it's important to do it this way. You'll get credit for the article on your site. Credit for a link back from the high-traffic article directory, and maybe one back from the distributed article or more. It takes a bit for the search engines to filter out the duplicate stuff. Plus, you can turn your three articles into many, many more by mixing paragraphs from the three versions.

However, there will be a threshold. You can only mix and match so much. One way to find your dupe content ratio is by going to DupeCop.com. Be sure that any article you use for distribution is at least 35% different from other articles you've submitted, and you'll have more links pointing back to your site.

The whole idea is to get maximum mileage out of your idea. Some people have trouble coming up with them, and rewriting is a good way to have new material with the same idea. It's much easier than coming up with a whole new idea and starting all over again. Make your articles as useful as they can possibly be.

In our next article in this series, we'll discuss podcasting. Stay tuned!

Getting Your Website Indexed is the First Step for Google Optimization

The first aim of any webmaster is to get the website indexed in Google. This takes a long time for some web promoters as they do not follow the Google basics. However, there is no problem and it is easy to get indexed in Google within a few days.

The first task after completion of your website is to create a Google sitemap for it. Sitemap displays the structure and layout of your website in a way that search engines access them with an ease. This is the file in the form of a coding. There are different web services that can generate various varieties of sitemaps after scanning your site. You can create an xml sitemap for Google which is provided in different formats. In its simple form normal sitemap is considered while others are compressed and ror sitemaps.

When your sitemap is created, you can save it and upload it after storing it in the folder created on root or store it directly on root. Create an account with the Google for submitting your sitemap. Follow all the instructions there to get your sitemap verified and then submit the generated sitemap.

Now submit your content to the Google to make to make it aware that you need to get crawl your website by googlebot. Add your website url in the Google and submit the required content. Google will consider your sitemap and content within a week or two. Apart from these it also depends on the relevancy of website content to get it indexed.

Search engine works on the basis of spider software that searches through a website. When this spider finds a link on a webpage it follows that link. If your link of website y is there on website X ,the spider will divert towards website Y from website X. Thus if your link is there in good established website then spider can follow to your website.

The way of getting link on other website can be by submitting article to an article directory. Write an article which is completely free and based on your website. In the author resource box you can insert a link back to your website. The more links which you have pointing towards your website the faster it will get indexed, So write more articles which are based around on the theme of your website. Another benefit is people will read your articles and it will generate more visitors for you.

Another way is to buy text-link ads which are displayed on an already established website that is currently indexed in Google. Through this you can achieve a back link from Google trusted sites. You have to pay for it but your website will get indexed in the shortest possible time.

Power Linking Strategies

More and more folks are realizing that building a solid themed reciprocal link directory is an affordable and highly effective way to increase inbound traffic. Not only is traffic generated through direct external links but weight is also given to search engines, as they assume that your website is more relevant. Relevant link building is clearly the key, where spammers requesting any link they can get will lose out every time. The more experienced you get in website promotion, the more you will want to concentrate on quality links. Let's look at one or two good rules to adhere to:

Only trade links with a website that:

Shares an interested audience
This is extremely important. If your website is about fly fishing in Montana then linking to a site that sells Viagra is not going to do you any favors. Just as importantly, when you do get offered a link from a site that shares your audience, make sure they are not linking to those Viagra sites!

Only trade links with a website that:

Has a clearly visible text link to its link directory
I can't tell you how many times I get proposed a link trade with a site that has told me they have already placed a link on their links page. 50% of the time they have not placed a link and secondly there is no clearly visible link to their links page from their home page. What good is that to anyone? I can't get traffic from their site and Google won't index either as it can't spider the page.

Only trade links with a website that:

Has a links page with no more than 50 to 60 links displayed
Many webmasters have no idea that search engines detest link farms and will ban a page with an excessive amount of links. More importantly they may not know that their links page is presently percieved as a link farm. They have simply added too many links on one page. Keep a links page to a minimum of say 50 links per page along with a keyword-laden title and description and only link to others who follow this principle.

Only trade links with a website that:

Has a Google pagerank not less than your own
This is a good rule of thumb. Clearly we would all love to trade links with a 9/10 site. It simply ain't gonna happen if you are still at 1/10. Take a few baby steps and climb up the ladder. Once in a while you might get a good 5 or 6 during the early stages. Just make sure you don't link to zeros, especially if their page is chock full of links. It may have been banned anyway.

Only trade links with a website that:

Has a static html links page
Google doesn't rank pages particularly well that are 'called' from other scripts, so try to stay away from these! Be cautious of .asp or .php scripts even though they may appear to be static. My rule of thumb is I will only link to .html pages unless the pagerank is worth it.

I have one or two pet peeves as far as link proposal etiquette is concerned. Here are a few things to take on board when proposing a link trade:

Always place a link before asking for a link
If you are going to propose a link trade with someone then add their link first before you shoot off an e-mail. It shows you are serious, professional and will give the recipient an incentive to trade back.

Give exact URL
When you propose a link trade state the exact page that they can find their link on your site. I get constant link requests from people saying they have added a link back to me and when I go to their directory I am hunting for 10 minutes trying to find it! Very often I can't as they haven't added it yet! When you propose a trade don't simply give the URL of your links directory index page and say "you can find it in the appropriate category". No no no! Give them the exact path so they can get to it in one click. Time is precious.

Don't spam for link requests
Don't simply get a mailing list of websites and send a blanket e-mail requesting a link trade. If I don't see my personal e-mail address in the header of a link trade request I know it has been spammed and they haven't even been to my site. I also know they haven't visited my site because I have link proposal contact forms on all of them. If they actually went there they would have filled out my form. Spammed link requests don't go down well because they are usually from webmasters who are trying to cut corners at every possible turn. Send a personal e-mail to a site that you personally visit. (You can still use software like Arelis to help you find the sites and automate everything else).

Keep your proposal short & sweet
Long convoluted e-mails explaining "how trading links benefits everyone" really aren't necessary. Keep your e-mail short and to the point. Tell them where their link is, and exactly how they should link to you.

Don't delete without good reason
Once you add a link it should remain on a static html page unless there is good reason to delete it. If your partner has deleted his link then by all means send an e-mail and give them an opportunity to repair. If this is fruitless then go ahead and delete. Lastly I want to mention something that I think is extremely important regarding reciprocal linking. I see way too many websites that have high pageranks on their index pages and very often zeros on their links pages. Usually this is because the links page is too many sub folders away. That and poor internal linking is usually the problem. Webmasters only want to link to pageranked sites if they are building a solid strategy, and quite rightly. Many webmasters don't care too much about their own links page, simply assuming that they are sending traffic away from their site. This is not the attitude to take as the higher the pagerank is on your links page the better external link proposal you will get. The answer is to boost your links page in popularity. There are two ways to do this:

1) Link to your partners index page AND reciprocal links page.
2) Link to a site map that displays all your links pages.

Lets look at the first idea. No one has really adopted this idea yet and I'm very surprised. The idea is that you link to your partner's home page and next to that link you also add a link to the page that contains your reciprocal link on your partner's page. In effect you are boosting the popularity of the page that links back to you. If everyone did this then links pages would rank higher, in turn giving more weight to the link pointing back to you. I personally use Arelis to trade links, a fantastic tool that actually puts the fun back into an otherwise tedious task. At present there is no way to automate this strategy using Arelis (and probably Zeus as far as I know) but I have mentioned it to them and they are considering updating. As of now if you use either of these programs you would have to manually add these link-backs once the pages are generated.

The second idea to boost your links page ranking is to create a new page that ALL your internal pages link to. Let's call this new page /site_map.html. On this site map web page you will display text links and descriptions to every one of your themed link directory pages (making sure again that you keep the number of links around 50 per page - otherwise you will need to create a second site map page linked from the first). Also Include links to all your other internal pages. Now place a little text link to your site map on every page within your site. A good place to do this is at the bottom of each page where you can link from a little copyright sign. Something like this:

ultimatewebsitepromotion.net

Effectively you have boosted your links page ranking even though it is only internally, something that is still extremely valid to search engines. Now make sure that when you create reciprocal links with external sites that you request they link to your home and your links page. Something like this:

Used cars for sale - Domestic and imported pre-owned cars by George Smith & Co. (Link back).

Get the idea? The "Used Cars for sale" points to their index page and the "Link back" points to the partner's links page. Easy. However, this whole new idea might take a little time to get around and until the big software programs adopt the principle, it might not be anytime soon. Until then you might have to manually add. Happy pagerank!

List Building: Setting Up a Synergistic List-Building System

Getting started with any project is the most important thing, and we don't always do it right. For instance, here is where people lose a lot of money, so this is really important.

If you're doing a teleseminar series, drive traffic, including your own list members to your list building squeeze page and be list building around a group of people who might be interested in the calls.

This is a great opportunity to monetize the thank you page, after people have joined the list, via the "homework" link or the "pre-call training." What youll find is that if only 30 to 50 percent of the people that sign up for your teleseminar list actually show up for the call, you still end up selling a certain percentage of them some product, right? It's like a head start.

Anyway, this happens in the first week of promotions. Drive traffic to your primary list building page for the whole series of calls.

At the same time, send three sample emails about the calls series to each of your speakers (and I would have three different emails--sequential emails), and say, Send these three emails about the teleseminar series or customize them to sound more like you.

If you have six speakers, be sure you get on all six of their lists, so that you know whether the emails were actually sent to their lists. And get each person to commit to the specific days that theyre going to send out. Get absolute dates. Im going to send out on a Wednesday, August 12th, Im going to send out on Thursday, August 13th and Im going to send out on Friday, August 15th.

And then those mornings, the first thing that you do is you pick up the phone and call the people who agreed to send out that day. Its your job to get as many of those people to mail out as possible, okay, and they wont. Its your job to motivate them to hustle and to remind them in a nice way, but make sure you get an absolute commitment from them in email and over the phone and make sure they have it written on their calendars.

For the Second week and subsequent weeks (assuming you hold a call once a week), change the destination URL for each speaker's affiliate link to the list building page for their particular event. If you have six people to interview, you should have seven squeeze pages for list building, including the one you used to advertise the entire series and one for each speaker.

Then what you can do is, one or two days before each call, get the person you're going to interview to send another message out to his or her list about their call. Tell your partners, What weve done is changed the destination of your affiliate link and it goes straight to the squeeze page for your interview.

Now heres the key; this is magic what Im about to explain to you. The key is you set up your autoresponder, and what youre going to do is when people opt-in for a particular call, whats going to happen is theyre going to be opting-in to a list for the speaker's call, and set it up so that you're list building, too, and that people are opting-in to your main list. Then, be sure to set your main list up so that it doesnt allow for multi-subscribes.

The main concept is because Bobby Jones is going to be driving straight to his squeeze page for his interview, you want to make sure that people get popped into your primary list as well, so that when you promote the calls in the future, you have everybody in one place.

Plus, for the thank you pages for your speaker's calls, you use a thank you page for their primary product, and make a bunch of money. Plus, you've been list building the whole way. The money's great, but it's really the list that matters. From a list, you can make money over, and over, and over again, even after the teleseminar series is over.

Link Popularity - Buying Text Links on High Pagerank Websites

It is well known that major search engines rank your website based on the quantity and quality of links that are pointing to your site. Webmasters use various methods to increase their website's link popularity. One of them is using text links ads. These are ads that are very similar to newspaper's ads, without graphics. You just write a headline with a short description and include the link to your website. Visitors clicking on them are directly sent to your site. And obviously, the search engine spiders visiting those websites follow your link. And because these are one-way links (also called backlinks), they have a higher weight in the search engines's algorithms which determine your website's ranking.

The most important part of this method is to choose the website where you put your link. For obvious reasons, most webmasters prefer to place their links on highly ranked websites or directories. The higher the Pagerank of the website offering you a one-way link, the better for you. In fact, the most effective quality links are those placed on PR5 websites or higher.

Some webmasters buy text links at a monthly basis, what the advertisers call recurring billing. You place your inbound link on a high ranked website and you pay an agreed fee every month. This method has the disadvantage of tying you up for long i.e. if you don't pay your monthly bill, your link will be removed and you'll no longer have the benefit you were looking for in the first place: having a quality link pointing to your website from a high ranked website.

But there is nowadays another interesting alternative: some text links directories offer the possibility of placing your link with a one-off fee. You then have a permanent link to your website. No recurring billing! No link removal! And the most exciting feature is that those one-off payments can costs as little as $1-$5. This is a cheap and highly cost-effective method of increasing your popularity. Usually, webmasters who want their website to appear at prominent places, such as the homepage or the top of a category page, have to bid more than the others. They decide what they want to pay in order to appear where they want. A fair enough system, in my opinion.

How to identify such websites? Do as I did. Use Google. You can make a search via Google, using keywords such as -buy cheap text links- for example.

I hope that this article will be useful to those new webmasters who want to increase their link popularity.

Increasing Link Popularity WITHOUT Exchanging Links

Yes, it can be done. Here are 7 ways that a site can acheive
increased link popularity without having to exchange links:

Directory Submissions - Submit to the Open Directory and other
sites like JoeAnt and Gimpsy. These are all human reviewed
directories, therefore search engines will consider that your
site must be of pretty good quality to be listed in them. Submission
to these sites is free, but there can be quite a wait to get
reviewed, since editors are unpaid volunteers. In addition to
a link popularity boost, a listing in Open Directory will get
your site listed in the other Open Directory powered sites
like Google's web Directory, AOL's web directory and many others.

Tips For Directory Submissions:

Editor Check - Is there an editor for your desired category?
If not, consider applying. For Open Directory, this can
give you the power to add your site much more quickly.

Link Title - Don't try any tricks to get keywords in your title
if they are not in your company name. This will get your listing
edited if the listing is approved or rejected outright. The
title must be your official website or company name.

Description - Again, don't try to insert extra keywords here,
it could backfire and your description will be edited or your
listing rejected. The description should be short and concise.
Just tell what your website offers and give some product or
service examples if appropriate. Again, keep it short!

Be patient! - It may take weeks or months to be reviewed. If
you've submitted before and are still not listed, try writing
a polite note to the editor of the category to see if there
was a problem.

Paid Submissions - Paid submissions to quality directories
and portals is also a good idea. It is well known that a
listing in the Yahoo directory area will give you a good
Google PageRank boost. Listing in the Yahoo directory area
is $299, so skip this option if your budget is limited.

Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Submissions - Google lists the
results of many smaller pay-per-click search engines. This
can help link popularity if your site is listed in these
results for your important keywords and phrases. There are
hundreds of these smaller PPC engines that offer a free
advertising credit just for signing up. Take a jaunt on
over to PayPerClickSearchEngines.com for a good list of them.
Submit listings under all your important keywords and phrases
and include keywords in your title.

Affiliate Program - Having an affiliate program can boost your
overall sales by letting other sites do the advertising for you,
but did you know that this can also help link popularity? For
some affiliate program services like Commission Junction or
LinkShare, they use a special link to track clicks and sales,
so these may not be effective since they do not contain your
actual domain name. The kind of affiliate program I am talking
about is the type that uses your domain name in the tracking URL
you give affiliates to use. Something like:
http://www.yourcompanyname.com/aff?64340
As long as your affiliate program uses this type of link, then
your site should see an increase in link popularity. Just make
sure you offer a good incentive for affiliates so that they will
add your link to their site. Even better, you can approve only
related sites or sites with a good Google PageRank or Alexa
traffic ranking into your program!

Specialized Submissions - What type of site do you have? What do you
sell? Chances are there is a directory that specializes in just
sites like yours. Have a casino or gambling site? There are many
gambling portals and search engines. Submit to all of them.
Have a site that sells antique fishing tackle? Yep, there are
directories relating to fishing, but you can also submit to the
many antique and collectible directories as well! Sell wedding
dresses in New York? Submit to the many wedding and bridal directories
and the New York search engines too. Whatever your niche, chances are
that there is a specialized directory or search engine for that area.
Find them and submit! You'll benefit from the targeted traffic they
send but also increased link popularity.

Create Your Own Directory - Set up your own specialized search engine,
directory or portal catering to your target audience. Your site can
be a featured or showcase site on the main page and other pages!
To attract users, add interactive content such as forums, have chats,
offer contests, the possibilities are endless.

Expired Domain Names - Maybe a site in your industry has gone out of
business? You may be able to pick up their domain name and with it
all their incoming links and traffic. Increase your link popularity
by adding your link to the site prominently, then go ahead and
re-direct the user to your site after a few seconds. Don't re-direct
quickly or you may not reap any link popularity benefits.

That's it! 7 ways to increase your website's link popularity without
maintaining a links page and without sending your visitors to competitors!

List Building - How To Crank Out A Rock Solid Opt-In Page That Delivers Results

One of the most popular questions I often get asked with regards to list building is "How do I build an effective opt-in page?" First off, I'll be frank. If you don't know anything about HTML, you're a dead duck in the water. You need to know at least a little HTML if you want to make it in this business. So go and acquaint yourself with some HTML and your web hosting control panel (or your FTP program) before you start building your opt-in page.

Sure, there are templates out there that allow you to take them and plug them in to your server. But it's likely you will have to make some changes to the templates so you can call them your own. Here's 3 steps to creating your own rock solid opt-in page:

Step 1: Create a 'right on the money' headline

Your headline has to be absolutely 'right on the money' because it's often the first thing your visitor will see. Continually test your headlines and make small changes to see if it improves your response rate. Fill your headline with power words and benefits that are instantly recognizable.

Step 2: Make a list of benefits

Think of 3 to 5 big benefits your visitor will get if he opts in to your subscriber list. This is what people will be signing up for - the benefits. Put them in bullet form so they are easy to read.

Step 3: Create a high-converting opt-in form

Grab the HTML code from your autoresponder and insert it into your page. You should create an opt-in form with a call-to-action that tells people to act now and subscribe now. If you don't have a strong call-to-action, it's likely you won't see stunning conversion rates for your opt-in page.

What a Link Directory Is

Link Directory is a resource on high quality websites. With free link submissions and a reciprocal one it can be supportive for websites. Having a reciprocal directory is a powerful script to have for gaining position in search engines. It has the potential to generate consistent revenues for you. A human-edited directory is created and maintained by webmasters who add links based on there policies. Human-edited directories are often targeted by SEOs on the basis that links from reputable sources will almost always improve rankings search engines.

A Link Exchange

Improve your search engine rankings and link popularity the easy way. Contact the webmaster of the relevant sites requesting a exchange. These types of these can be established over time and can take a while to develop, but is well worth your time. The first step toward building a successful series of link exchanges is to find other web sites to exchange links with.

A Manual Directory Submission Service

If you do not have time to add your website to hundreds of directories yourself, it is time to take advantage of a manual directory submission service. Price and features offered by these vary much, so look around. Depending on your sites content, there are probably cheaper ways to get some quality back links.

Link Popularity Is

A website's link popularity can be determined by the quality, quantity, and relevance of the other websites that link to its page. There is no secret behind the success you can have by increasing your page rank, but the true secret is how you can do so. By adding incoming links to your website, search engine popularity grows as well. Simply your page rank goes up when you get a link from another site.

Link Building Is

This has become an integral part of search engine marketing and positioning. The topic is inevitably the subject of many web conferences. Since link building has become a profitable business opportunity search engines are aware of what is going on and are putting countermeasures in place. One good reciprocal can give you the same amount of traffic as a major search engine

Try to avoid duplicate content issues by encouraging submissions with well written descriptions. Unique descriptions for the categories are best. PHP directory is probably the most popular.

I always hear marketing experts talk about how link popularity improves your listing in the search engines. When webmasters stock-piled their sites with keywords, the wrong sites were getting too much attention. If you are new to internet marketing, one tip you may have heard around the internet is that quantity link building is a better campaign than quality building.

Remember This Webmaster

A comprehensive, vertical-themed link directory keeps your visitors coming back again and again. Building a reciprocal link directory is worthwhile! Not every website out there that does link exchanges is right for you.

Articles are in high demand these days. The simple reason is that they have power to burst your website bandwidth with high quality website traffic. If you want to tap into this high traffic pulling power of articles make sure you apply 3 simple steps laid down below with every article you write from now on.

Here's a 3 block formula that will pump up your website traffic right off the charts through article marketing...

Step 1 - Optimize Your Articles.

Step 2 - Attention Grabbing Titles.

Step 3 - High Quality Articles.

The purpose of this article is to make sure that you get high traffic from your article marketing campaign. Here are high traffic pulling article marketing steps in detail...

Step 1 - Optimize Your Articles.

You must learn how to optimize your articles. You must load your articles with keywords in your niche so that search engines know the niche your articles are targeting.

Study your niche and research keywords that they are using to find information relating to your products and services. Then optimize your articles with those keywords so that they rank well in the search engines.

Step 2 - Attention Grabbing Titles.

Title is one of the most important part of your article.

If your title fails to grab attention of your target market, no one will read your article. If they fail to read your article know one will reach your resource box and thus zero traffic to your website.

Therefore focus on writing catchy headlines. I would suggest you to get headline templates on the internet. There are many copywriting ebooks that will give you fill in the blank headline templates that are really catchy.

Then make sure you include your article benefits and solution to problems of your target niche and use the templates to write catchy headlines.

Step 3 - High Quality Articles.

Therefore it is very important to give your target market what they want, that is quality informative content in your niche. If you provide quality content this will boost up your name and reputation in your niche.

What is "Link Bait and How Do I Create It?"

This is a cool term that I picked up in an intense Webmaster's forum. I fancy myself a reasonably talented SEO marketer. I've never used Google Adwords or any other PPC advertising and I'm well-schooled on traditional as well as Web 2.0 search engine optimization strategies.

I can definitely say that Web 2.0 methods are a lot easier and a lot more fun than the tedious traditional methods.

What is the #1 thing that you need to get higher rankings in the search engines?

Backlinks to your site.

The more links to your site, the better your rankings, in a nutshell. There are of course other factors such as the linking site's pagerank, whether or not it's a reciprocal link, and the anchor text used--just to name a few of the biggies.

So what exactly is this "link bait" and how do you make it?

Link bait is the kind of content that makes people want to link to it naturally. No link trading, nothing in return. Just content so good that people just want to be connected with it somehow.

So how do you create this kind of content that we call link bait? Well, you can give them what they were looking for such as news and solid information. If you become known as a reliable source of information, people will link to you whether they use your articles, link to you from their blogs, or bookmark you in the social bookmarking sites for example.

Another way to create link bait is to stir your reader's emotion. Make them laugh, make them angry, scare them. Post the kind of content that makes people say: "Did you read so and so's article? I can't believe she said THAT!"

Create a controversy, if you can back up what you're saying on the matter. Go against the grain. It's ok to have your own opinions. As long as they're well-founded, you should tell the world about them.

That is what the "new web" is all about.

Now go start a commotion or share your wealth of knowledge and create some instant link bait.

Search Engine Optimization : How to Put Your Web Site on the Map

Search engine optimization is a term often used to describe an array of techniques aimed to boost ranks when people search for a given keyword or key phrase. Many web site owners often spend money and time building a web presence. Unfortunately the most important step is often overlooked: how can you be found?

Years ago it was fairly easy to design a site, write content and submit it to a directory or two. Odds would be that the search engines would rank the site well for keywords related to the copy present in the web pages.

Furthermore, as the search engine technology and the number of web sites was not what it is today, using keyword repetition and many questionable tactics such as creating many domains with the same content, pretty much assured prominent positioning.

The reality of today' s search engine marketing has changed dramatically. Any web site owner needs to work hard to be found for any popular term in Google, Yahoo! or MSN search. The stakes are high because more and more people use the internet to find goods and services.

If you do not have an web presence and plan to get into the online arena, you have a disadvantage: Google in particular will not rank a new domain very high. As the web site "ages", ranks will improve.

Older domains with an established presence are in better shape to achieve good results sooner. I will describe some of the most important factors involved in reaching top positions in the search engines.

-Clean code: Search engines like a well coded site: please to dot use Word to design a web page. It creates "dirty" html code. Be also careful with WYSIWYG editors. Some put proprietary tags that are search engine unfriendly.

-Content: I can not emphasize enough how important it is to write extensive content so that the search engines recognize the site as relevant to the people who search for a particular keyword.

-Tags: Make sure the title and description tags contain the keywords you want users to look for.

-Linking: Linking refers to other sites linking to one. This is a very important factor; search engines count links as a "vote". The reasoning is that if site A links to site B, then site B must be useful. Links can come from important directories such as Yahoo! or Dmoz. They can also come from other relevant web sites. For example, if you sell paintings a link from an art school or a gallery would be important. Please do not exchange links with questionable sites such as link farms. Link farms are directories that exist for the sole purpose of gathering links with no valuable content. Make sure that, when possible, links to your site contain anchor text with the keywords being targeted. Post articles about your services and products and include a link to your site. Many reputable article sites will appreciate your content. Publish online press releases.

These are some of the most important factors for search engine optimization. I will describe now what should never be done because it can lead to a search engine ban on a site.

-Do not stuff meta tags with the same keywords. It is a sure way to be penalized.

-Do not hide keywords by using the same or similar color text as the background.

-As I mentioned above, do not exchange with questionable sites.

-Do not use "cloaking" software to serve "ad hoc" pages to the search engine spiders.

-Do not create multiple domains with the same content. You will be found out and search engines will at a minimum ban all the duplicates.

Effective search engine optimization will take time, expertise and money to accomplish. The results will be well worth the effort.

An Introduction To Article Marketing

Article Marketing is a great tool to use when it comes to adding traffic to your site. If you are not familiar with what it is, Article Marketing is simply writing articles and submitting them to article reprint directories on the web.

As you know, having fresh content on your website and blog is key when it comes to getting search engine traffic. Many website owners and bloggers visit article reprint directories on a daily basis, in search of articles to use on their sites. When you submit an article to a directory, you are allowing other website owners and bloggers permission to add your article to their site - for free. However, they need to include an "about the author" box at the end of the article. You get to write what you want included in that box, so include a bit of information about the product or service you offer and include links to your site.

When the website owner or blogger puts your article up on the web, all of their readers will see your biography information and the links to your website. Your article could end up on hundreds or thousands of websites, and quite possibly, millions of people could end up reading it! Who knows how many people could click on your link?

It is very easy to find these reprint directories on the web. Just do a Google search on "free reprint article directories" and many listings will pop up. Some are highly targeted and feature only articles health articles; or only articles about food; and other directories are more general. You can submit your article to more than one directory, and there are even some software packages that will submit the articles for you.

The topics you can choose to write about are limitless. What is the focus of your website? Be creative and think of why someone would want to visit your website and create an article about it. Someone who sells Tupperware for instance, could easily write about food related items or take it a step further an write an article about the fact that the plastic containers are great for organizing toys, bathroom items or even nuts and bolts in the garage.

If you do not like to write, don't worry. You can hire a ghostwriter to write your article for you. You can ask other Internet Marketers for referrals on reputable ghostwriters. The prices for an article will vary, but an average rate is about $10 to $12 for a 500 word article. Once you discuss with the ghostwriter what you are looking for, they will write the article and send it back to you. Some ghostwriters may also include submit the article to reprint directories for you.

Google Rules! No, This Isn't Another Glowing Report of the Search Engine Giant

Visit any forum or web page dedicated to the discussion of SEO (search engine optimization) and you will find scads of webmasters and SEO specialists obsessed with improving their Google placement and/or page rank. Why is that? Because Google is the most popular search engine, it’s the one that everyone uses to find what they are looking for.

My question is why? Does the public know that Google has a “sandbox”? The existence of the sandbox has never been verified by Google, but it’s widely believed to exist.

The sandbox is like a penalty box for new web sites. Most say that a new web site will have to do it’s time in the sandbox for about 6 months before ever having a hope of ranking well in Google. In effect, when you search for “widgets” in Google, there is little chance that you are going to find a new widget company, or even a 50 year old widget company that has just produced a web site for the first time.

What I want to know is; is that fair? Is it what the masses want? Do the masses care how old a site is or how many people link to it? Not likely. As a consumer, if I’m looking for a widget I want a good quality inexpensive widget and I want one that I can order online maybe or one that is local to me so that I can go get it. I could give a rat’s behind how long the website has been up or how many other websites link to it… I just want my widget!

I recently created a web site for my company which offers web design and logo design services. There are a gazillion companies offering that ok, well Google says 170 million but close enough! My chances of getting a top 10, or even to the top 50 are minimal, I have to rely on some more obscure keywords and other advertising methods to get anywhere. I can also rely on Msn search because in a matter of a month I’m now in the top 10 to 30 on three of my keyword phrases.

So what’s the difference? Msn doesn’t have a penalty box? They don’t care how long the site existed? They don’t care how many back links you have? My personal theory is that what they do care about is fresh content and a new website has fresh content.

So… what does this all mean? Not much really other than to point out that Google is a snob and Msn isn’t? That if you are looking for the latest on a topic, perhaps msn should be your search engine of choice? To point out that the average consumer doesn’t really care that there are 170 million websites found for their search term, what they want is relevance in the top 10 – 30 (most won’t go further than 3 pages before they try changing their search term or select a site within the top 30)

This has been mostly a frustration rant and perhaps a challenge to Google. What gives Google the power to decide what we as consumers want to find when we search? Who are they to decide that a new site is less worthy than an older established site? Isn’t the content what is important to us when we search? Is there a better way for Google, and the others to provide better more relevant results?

Perhaps Google should consider offering an option to its faithful followers. An option to search without their penalty filter, an option to search on new content, an option to search on the age of the website – giving us the choice to decide what’s important to us – giving us credit for knowing what we want. It would rock the world of the SEO and force us webmasters and designers to go back to working on unique content and service for our customers instead of obsessing on keywords and backlinks. I think that would be good for everyone.

Internet Home Business Idea - Make 100s of Dollars Spreading Articles

Why does article marketing work to drive traffic to your internet home business idea?

Have you ever tried article marketing and have failed? Or worst have you ever heard someone saying that article marketing does not work to drive traffic to your internet home business idea.

If you answered yes then make sure you read this article. The purpose of this article is to show you exactly why people fail and how you can save time doing this article marketing thing and get killer response and traffic.

Here are some benefits of article marketing...
1. Helps to attract free traffic.
2. Boosts up your credibility.
3. Traffic converts extremely well.
4. Gives you top search engine ranking for your website.
5. Gets you hundreds of incoming links to your website.

Here are some reasons why article marketing does not work for some people and how it can work for you...

Reason 1 - Killer Title.

The most important part is to write a killer title. Your title should have a keyword in it, this will take you to the top in the search engines. Stress on benefits in your article that your readers will receive. Also focus on the problems that your readers are facing, this will get their attention.

Reason 2 - Article Opener and Content.

Write an attention grabbing article opener that makes sure that your reader reads more. Write your article in bullets or point format with multiple sub-headlines, as I have done in this article. This will retain the attention of your readers till the end.

Reason 3 - Give a Call to Action.

Tell your readers exactly where to go in your bio. Instead of speaking about yourself in the bio give them a benefit they will receive if they visit your website.

Reason 4 - Build a List.

Instead of selling something in your article make sure you focus on building your list by giving them something for FREE in your bio.

Reason 5 - Focus on Quality and Quantity.

People write 10 articles and get tired and cry that they have not received any traffic. You will see some decent traffic coming into your website only after you have touched minimum 100 articles and it has spread all around. YES, it is hard work. Make a plan of writing 10 quality articles daily and keep spreading them. You will soon see your website going out of control with all the traffic it receives.

Reason 6 - Lack of Time.

Ok so you don't have time writing articles. Hire freelance writers to do it for you. You will get many who will be glad to write articles for you at 'Elance' and 'Rent A Coder'.

Reason 7 - Boring to Submit Articles.

There's a solution. Get an article distribution service like 'Article Marketer' and they will submit your articles to hundreds of article directories with a click of a button. The 7 reasons mentioned above are the main reasons that leads to failure and success of any article marketing campaign.

Focus yourself in applying the above 7 tips in your article marketing campaign and you will easily find success in driving quality traffic to your internet home business idea.
