Viral marketing is a methods of list building

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

Web site owners come to us for training with many backgrounds. Some are very technical and excel with competitive intelligence. Some have a design background and can relate to designing a site that is user friendly. All understand and can implement basic search engine optimization. But my greatest challenge is to teach everyone (even those who say they can not write) how they can take article marketing and leverage the Internet to their full advantage.

Just as the saying from Donnie and Marie (yes that's aging me) "She's little bit county, and he's little bit rock and roll" I look at Article Marketing the same way, "It's partly science and a little bit art and persistence."

From the very first step of writing an article to the very last of seeing it get indexed I have come up with an 8 step combination to ensure article marketing success.

Let's begin with...

Step #1 - Keyword Research - As with any new SEO project I start, keyword research is my most valuable step. I always look for keywords that have low competing pages and a high KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Index.) My program of choice is Wordtracker. Many of the most successful articles I've written start with a keyword I have found in my research phase and then I write an article around my findings. Finding those phrases that result in brining industry related traffic to your site is half the battle.

Step #2 - Writing the Article - Even if you think you can not write an article follow these few guidelines and you will easily have a 400 - 600 word article in front of you within a very short time. Author, Robin Nobles taught me this outline for writing an article many years ago and I still use it every time I sit down to write for my Web site.

1. Before starting to write, list the topics you want to cover.

2. Take each topic and detail them out individually.

3. Organize the topics by importance.

4. Make a smooth transition from one topic to the next

5. Your first paragraph should be a summary of what the article is about.

6. Use bulleted lists and plenty of white space.

7. Every article should have a beginning, middle and an end.

8. Include that ah-ah moment. I try to keep in mind that those who take time to read my articles are looking to learn something so I include something that will make them glad they read what I had to say.

Step #3 - Search Engine Optimization - Up until now my only concern is to write an article that provides real value to my reader. Now I take the article and concentrate on optimizing for my keyword phrases. Keeping in mind that my title tag is the most important element of my article I try to make it compelling and always include my keyword phrase in it. I also add my keyword phrase to my Meta tags, check my keyword weight, H1 tags and link text within the body of the article.

Step #4 - Proofing - I know most of you think this is a no brainier but it is so important. Any article I write I put it aside for a couple days and go back to it. I also have someone proof it for me before I start marketing it. I always read everything I write out loud and if I stumble on any words I can be sure my readers will stumble on them as well.

Step #5 - Web Site Publishing - Now I am ready to publish it to my Web site being sure I have added a link to my site map as well as linking it from another page on my site linking it to a page that relates to the same topic as the new article.

Step #6 - Blogging - I use my blog as my ace in the whole. Search Engines love the freshness of blogs and will visit your blog on daily or weekly basis if they see you're constantly adding new posts. I name my blog post using the same keyword phrase in my blog title as in my article and write only a snippet of the article on my blog pointing back to the full article on my site.

Step #7 - Upload to Article Marketing Web Sites - I have a list of my favorite article marketing sites that I use on a regular basis and I submit my article to each one of them every time I finish one. Here is my favorite list:

BusinessKnowHow.com

ArticleDashboard.com

Buzzel.com

ArticleBiz.com

EzineArticles.com

ArticleCity.com

ArticleAlley.com

Step #8 - Social Media Marketing - I start this step by pinging my blog post through a service such as Autopinger.com. Then since there are so many Social Media Marketing avenues available today on the Internet I did a lot of testing to see exactly what sites I could see some viable results from. From my testing I came up with a handful of SMM sites that I regularly submit my articles to. Let me share them with you:

Digg.com

Del.icio.us

Reddit.com

Scribd.com

Sphinn.com

Propeller.com

Step #9 - Bonus Listing - A couple months ago I found a new Social Media Site "Squidoo." I read the guidelines and created a lens concentrating on my keyword phrase. Now every time I complete an article I create a new lens in my Squidoo account focused around my articles keywords.

One of my hard to get keyword phrases has 314,000 competing pages and within a month my lens focused keyword phrase on Squidoo was index on page two and above the actual article on my Web site using the same phrase.

These are the steps I use each and every time I write for the Web. My whole goal is to monopolize the Internet with my industry related topics opening as many windows into my site as possible.

Its' not all about just your Web site anymore! The combination is changing every day and in order to keep ahead you must adapt to finding ways to open multiple vaults into your site every day. Article Marketing will help identify you as an expert in your field and give you instant creditability with your readers.

Link popularity is also known as link building, link exchanging, inbound links etc. It refers to the quality and quantity of incoming links to your site. It is a very important part of the search engine optimization process and plays an important role for getting high search engine rankings on specific keywords.

It is not enough to go for quantity of inbound links when building high link popularity. The quality of inbound links is much more important than quantity for getting that high link popularity. In other words, having a lower number of quality inbound links is more valuable than having a large quantity of poor links in for SEO.

Generally there are three types of link exchanging one way link, reciprocal link and triangular. One way linking is the process of getting inbound links without having to give a link back. Free directory submission, article submission, blogs, and forums are the best sources of getting one way links to your sites. Reciprocal linking is the process of both giving and receiving a link. In a reciprocal link exchange, you put your link partners link on a page within your web site, and in return, your link partner will also link to you from his or her web site.

One-way links are more valuable in terms of page rank than reciprocal links, but it is very hard to get one-way links from web sites with a high Google Page Rank. Although directory submission is the easiest way to get one-way links, they do not hold the kind of value as receiving a one-way link from a site with a high Page Rank. The reason for this mostly has to do with the fact that in order to submit your web site to a category that is relevant to your sites contents, you have to bury your link more than 2 categories deep in the directory. For example, if you have USA based SEO sites, you would submit your site in: main/ computer/ internet/ word wide web / SEO/ USA. This means your link is not indexed until after 5 clicks from the directorys main page. The further away your link is from the directorys main page, the harder it will be for search engine spiders to crawl and index it. This drawback is not experienced with reciprocal link exchanging though, which is the reason most webmasters generally suggest reciprocal link exchanges in addition to one-way link exchange.

It is important to consider some basic things during reciprocal link exchanging in order to truly capitalize on the potential benefits. The following are some tips to consider when it comes to reciprocal link exchanging:

  • Link exchanging must be between relevant sites. Link exchange between non related sites might negatively affect the ranking of your websites in the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs)
  • Avoid triangular, or 3- way link exchanges.
  • Link pages should not be more than 2 clicks from the sites index page.
  • The reciprocating page must be indexed in Google as well as other search engines.
  • Pay careful consideration to the meta tags of your links page. The links page should have proper meta tags and must be related to the your sites keywords.
  • Use appropriate anchor text with relevant keywords when exchanging links with other sites.
  • Also check no index, no follow tag on the reciprocating pages meta tags. If you find such this type of tag being used in the meta tags, then avoid exchanging links with those sites.

TIPS FROM THE TOP

For radio and TV: Approach producers as if they have ADD (attention deficit disorder). Get their attention fast. If your press release doesn't capture the producers' attention within the first ten seconds, you're dead; they'll be off on something else. They seldom read press releases, but when they do, they usually just scan the headlines and bullets. Producers' lives are blurs. Everything is an emergency or a crisis...so make press releases for producers shorter than those you send to print journalists. Tips:

Headlines are critical. They should be one line only, take seconds to read and focus on value and benefit.

The media is obsessed with three topics that it thinks audiences crave: money, sex and health. So, whenever possible, tie your headlines to those topics.

Establish a "Who Gives a Damn" meter. Determine if anyone would care about the information presented. If so, identify specifically who would care. Then determine why they would care. Once done, write headlines and bullets targeted to those who would care.

For print: For the print media the first paragraph of your press release is vital. It should run no more than three or four sentences and set forth all of the main points covered in the release. Don't muddy your opening paragraph with too much detail...Use subsequent paragraphs to further explain your story, including background, more specific information, and even include quotes or endorsements. But keep the entire release to one page. After you've drafted the release, tie it together with a catchy headline...always include your contact information at both the top and bottom of the page. [And remember] that print media can publish a press release, or parts of it, with little or no change, and their job is done. ___

Article marketing is one of the most effective methods of traffic generation and name recognition building that is available online today, and yet many people in internet marketing, like yourself, perhaps, are unaware of how it really works.

Here is article marketing revealed:

1) Write articles related to the topic of your web pages

2) Include links to your web pages in the articles

3) Submit the articles to the online article directories

Generally at this point, the next step is for the article directory to perform. They will either accept your article, and publish it, and you should begin to get traffic from the article, or they will not accept it (reject it). When they reject your article, many of the article directories will send you an email indicating why they have rejected your article, and by studying the rejections, you can determine what changes you need to make to get your articles to the point that they are generally accepted and published. In this way your time will become more productive as you are writing articles.

Once your article is approved and published, it will be available online the world over for search engines to see and index, for humans to access and read, and for other webmasters to use as content for their own websites. This is the most exciting part of the process, as other webmasters upload your article, links included, into their web sites.

Many of the article directories also use RSS feeds that allow other webmasters to automatically update their own websites with the content from the article directories (including your own articles). This of course automates the article propagation process.

Article marketing really can be an awesome source of almost viral traffic, especially when the articles are submitted to the best article directories and the articles are written in a tone that encourages responsiveness.

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

Are you sending traffic to your website? If you answered yes as most people will, then you are a good candidate for building an Opt in list. Not just because the money is in the list but because it is smart online marketing.

Allow me explain. With the entrance of broadband, people move very quickly from one website to the next. You may have a great website, copy and lots of bonuses but people/visitors are not always ready to spend the time to go through your offer. Result: they miss your good offer and they're gone - most times for good.

So what's the solution? Build a list and maximise the traffic already arriving at your site. It is that simple. Now allow me use this illustration: You send traffic to your website say 1000. 2% buy your product of $10; you have just earned $200. What about the 98% (980) who did not buy first time?

OK, now imagine this: you capture their names and addresses and follow them up; bearing in mind that people will not necessarily save your web address in their favourites box. So you follow them up and another 2% of your 980 buys. You would have made $400 in total. See where I am going with this? You would not have doubled your conversion rate with the same amount of traffic apart from capturing the details of non buyers and following them up.

You could say your lead conversion rate is now 4%. Think of what would happen if you had a great relationship with your subscribers. You could easily triple or quadruple your profits without any extra or additional traffic!

Build a list and remind your visitor of your offer and increase your profits from the same amount of traffic. Do this and you will convert more of your subscribers into buyers.

Don't rely on one time sales. It takes less effort to get an existing customer to buy something from you than it does to find more fresh customers.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is

If you are looking for a powerful yet cost-effective content-based marketing solution to promote your website and your products, you should definitely give article marketing a try. This marketing tool allows you to communicate your expertise online so people will trust you and consider doing business with you.

Here are the 7 interesting ways to energize your article marketing:

1. Make use of automatic submission software. Manually submitting your articles to leading publishing sites can be time consuming and downright exhausting. Automate the submission of your articles to buy yourself more writing time.

2. Offer valuable information. There is only one reason why people read and invest their time on articles - they would like to be informed. Make sure that your articles offer quality and unique information that your readers will find useful in their lives.

3. Tell online users what's in it for them in your titles. This simply means communicate the reader's benefits on your headlines to compel online users to open and read your content.

4. Keep your articles short. Get straight to the point and avoid using too much introductions and fillers. Use short sentences and steer clear from using passive voice that makes your article lengthy and weak.

5. Maximize your resource box. Most article submission sites allow you to use up to 3 hyperlinks on your resource box. Take advantage of this and use at least 2 anchor texts (they are proven to improve clickthrough rate) and one absolute URL.

6. Be consistent. One of the keys to succeed in article marketing is your commitment. Strive to consistently write and submit articles on a daily basis if possible. This will strengthen your online presence and credibility.

7. Use keywords. Keep the search engines in mind when writing your articles and sprinkle generous amount of keywords all throughout your content to make them highly searchable online.

Making Money with Your Blog!

A place for finding the Nuts and Bolts for Making Money Online with Affiliate Marketing Business Opportunity!

Why should you optimize your website for not so competitive keywords as a rookie webmaster? Most new webmasters start optimizing for very high competitive keywords, because they want to hit the jackpot.

Nevertheless they will not rank at all for any little competitive keyword, because there website is new and it probably it has no trust at all. I have some beginner and advanced webmaster seo tricks, which you can use to gain some traffic when launching your new website, and to start making some money of your website.

When you starting a new website or weblog, no one knows about it. So you can do a lot of work, with link exchange, submit your blog to directories and submit your rss feed to any website. But there are better ways to make a stable traffic source, like optimize your website for not competitive keywords. Most skilled webmasters tells everyone do not start with not competitive keywords, because the traffic they gain is very minimal, and gives no profit on the long run.

I did a lot of testing and my experience is that when you start with competitive keywords, it takes months before first visitors come trough google and will rank your website for some strange keyword phrases.

Because you have no trust rank or enough backlinks, and because nobody knows your website or blog, and they will not link to you page.

When you start with 3 phrase keywords with weird synonyms or something, you can rank easily on these 3 phrase keywords. Because no one wants to rank on them, they just start off with high competitive keywords. Do not forget to use not competitive keywords in your title tags because with this seo trick you can hit the number one spot easily.

So your great new website can rank on number one easily on these keyword phrases and start to gain some traffic. Don't expect much traffic, but a website without traffic in any months is NOT fun to make or update. That's why most people quit there website or blog within 3 months because they are not motivated to go further if no one reads there content.

Now you are on the number one spot (maybe 2,3 or 4) but you gain traffic, and a small amount of people know your website. Maybe some webmasters will start linking your website, and your website will growing with backlinks and trust.

After a few months you still gaining traffic and when your website or blog got enough trust of google, it will climb up the results on very competitive keywords. Then all your old content and articles are going to rank on synonyms of your synonyms :) When you used a synonym of a very highly competitive keyword and it starts ranking on the original keyword you will be a very happy webmaster, with still a lot of motivation.
